“Great Green Wall” is a documentary about an ambitious project taking place in Africa, where a wall of trees and greenery is being built and fertilized from Senegal to Djibouti. The story is a musical journey, there to introduce the cultures involved in the ecological development. It is also a story on the ways that Africa, as a continent, is committed to addressing climate change and climate justice.

Great Green Wall follows Inna Modja, a singer from Mali. She introduces not only her own life, but those of other artists. Together they work to record an album that is designed to showcase the spirit of the Great Green Wall, and its importance for a healthier, happier, and economically sound African future.
Partnerships for Change is happy to be connected to the Great Green Wall documentary filmmakers. The film is directed by Fernando Meirelles, the acclaimed director of “City of God.” It has also been developed in partnership with the United Nations, potentially serving as a model for additional eco-justice projects in the future.
